Application of ARATEX L-3315, a new supple - smooth hydrophilic silicone oil emulsion for cotton

The ideal effect of softening cotton fabric is to have excellent supple and smooth hand touch, but also have a good hydrophilic effect, and the stability of the emulsion is good, not easy to produce silicone oil spots. However, it is difficult to take care of the three at the same time.
Amino silicone oil in the market can give fabrics a nice hand touch, but it can’t give fabric good hydrophilicity or stabilization. Although the block silicone oil hydrophilicity and stability is better, the touch is generally a little worse.

According to the research on market pain points for many years, OSiC has newly developed a new structure of silicone oil emulsion L-3315, which has reached an excellent level of touch, hydrophilicity and stability, and has been generally welcomed by the market.

  • Experimental purpose:
Comparison of L-3315, amino silicone oil in the market (short as “MT-amino silicone oil”) and block silicone oil in the market (short as “MT-block silicone oil”) with the same solids content.
  •  Test content and method:
Cotton knitted padding process: one exhausting and one padding (pressure: 3kg/cm2)→drying→setting at 180℃30 seconds→moisture regaining→evaluating hydrophilicity and touch

  •  Evaluation of experimental results:
① Evaluation of hydrophilicity:
L-3315:15 seconds
MT-amino silicone oil:not hydrophilic.
MT-block silicone oil:12 seconds

② Evaluation of touch
L-3315 is comparable to MT-amino silicone oil in terms of softness and smoothness, and is superior to MT-block silicone oil.
